For a company under 100 employees, the features that matter most are the ones that handle daily essentials reliably: automated payroll with statutory compliance, attendance and leave management, a usable employee self-service mobile app, and straightforward reporting. Advanced talent or analytics modules are secondary at this size.
Equally important are the practical qualities around the features: fast implementation without a consultant, predictable per-employee pricing that doesn’t penalise growth past 50 or 100 employees, and the ability to scale to several hundred employees on the same platform so you don’t face a migration later. Choose a focused, easy-to-adopt tool that covers the core well and grows with you, rather than an enterprise suite whose complexity outweighs its value at this scale.
